Admissions Process
For 2007-2008 Entry
Thank you for your
interest in possible enrollment of your child at Island Pacific School in
September 2007. Our Admissions process follows a number of steps, usually
but not necessarily in the sequence outlined below.
Initial Interview
This is in exploratory interview with the School Director, to determine
whether there is a potential fit between the family and school, and to
clarify the next step.

Submission of
Application Form and Fees
The submission of a completed Application Form, with the $250.00 Application Fee (non-refundable)
and $500.00 Tuition Fee Deposit (refundable only of the school is unable
to enroll the student) secures the applicant’s place in the admissions
queue. A $165.00 Assessment Fee is also charged to cover the cost of the
mandatory learning assessment. All families receive a copy of the
assessment report.
School Visit for the
Student
During this all-day visit, the student is able to get a feeling for the
school and how he or she might enjoy becoming part of the community, and
the teachers observe how the student seems to fit into the community.
Learning Assessment
The student takes a 2-3 hour educational assessment test at the UBC office
of Eaton Learning Centre. The report is provided to the school and family.
(The assessment testing is completed only after submission of the
Application form and fees.) |
