Island Pacific School is a unique middle school providing students in grades 6 through 9 a rich educational experience that will equip and inspire them for a lifetime. Island Pacific students are challenged to become independent life-long learners, with warranted confidence in their intellectual and creative abilities.

We know our students. Our intimate size of between 58 to 65 students guarantees that our dedicated teachers are able to provide generous individual attention and promote strong student/teacher relationships.

We stimulate and stretch our students. The IPS teaching environment is both intimate and engaging and fosters an environment of shared trust and respect. Throughout the day and throughout the year, IPS students participate in a wide range of academic, artistic, and recreational pursuits designed to foster responsibility and self-reliance. Guided by a highly-qualified teaching staff, and in cooperation with classmates and an array of community mentors, IPS students gain a level of knowledge and discipline that are the twin hallmarks of the most distinguished citizens and scholars.

Our curriculum meets or exceeds the BC Ministry of Education requirements. IPS students also enjoy frequent excursions to a variety of cultural, educational and recreational destinations.

We recognize that middle school matters. Early adolescence is an exciting time of rapid growth, enthusiasm for learning and increasing independence. In the middle school years, personal identities and relationships to others and to the world are re-shaped as children become young adults. It is a pivotal time when the love of learning can be lost.
